August 1-7 every year is World Breastfeeding Week. It is commemorated is more than 120 countries worldwide to encourage breastfeeding. Breastfeeding provides newborn babies with the nutrients they need in order to grow healthy and strong. The celebration is being spearheaded by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nation’s Children’s Fund (UNICEF).
It is recommended that a baby should be exclusively breastfed until six months old, and should be continued breastfeeding with additional nutritious food for up to two years and beyond. Now that my second baby is coming out very soon, I promise to breastfeed him exclusively. I haven’t done that with my first born because we practiced mixed feeding. And at the time I resumed working, she became more comfortable with bottle feeding. Somehow, I regret it that’s why I will do my best to do the right thing this time, that is to breastfeed my baby boy…
